One of the reasons that airguns are a great entry point for shooting is that as long as you are over the age of 18 and the pistol or rifle has a power output below 12ft lbs you don’t require a licence to purchase them.
If you are under 18, you are unable to purchase an airgun, however, if you are aged 14 to 17 you can still borrow an airgun, and its ammunition, and use it without supervision on private premises with permission.
Those under 14 can still use an airgun, but they must be under the supervision of someone over 21 on private premises.
