BSA R12 SLX Side Lever Super Carbine – Walnut
The BSA R12 SLX Super Carbine is a PCP air rifle that is based on the popular R10SE model, that has some improvements over its predecessor.
The main difference and upgrade is the side lever action which is easier and faster to use than the previous bolt action system.
The main block of the air rifle is a single component, whereas the R10 construction was made from two pieces bolted together, this improvement added to its reliability, it is fitted with a 200cc air bottle which is supplied as standard.
The onboard regulator has been overhauled and replaced with a new improved unit delivering the same power and shot consistency, regardless of the bottle air pressure.
Supplied with two 12-shot magazines with a shot count indicator window so you can see exactly how many shots you have left, at a glance.
It has a sporter walnut stock that is produced by Minelli in Italy.
There are QD Studs fitted so a carry strap and/or a Bi-Pod can be fitted (which I think is a nice touch).
The shot count is reasonable with 140 Shots in .177 and 180 shots in .22. based on an air fill at 230CC.
There are two variants of the R12 SLX Side Lever, the super carbine which has a length of 94cm and a weight of 3.2KG and the Carbine which has a longer barrel at 102cm and weighs only 2.9KG and are both available in Walnut, Laminate and Black Stock.
Bristol Airguns Opinion: It is a substantial upgrade on the R10, certainly looks the part, beautifully finished but still retains the BSA pedigree and feel, great rifle for either range work or hunting. However, at its current cost, it certainly has stiff competition from Weihrauch and Air Arms who have some amazing PCP rifles around the same price.
With a Three Year Warranty and is supplied with a hard case.
